Hello my reader pals,
This week I’m taking you behind the scenes of my meditative drawing practice that I like to do in the mornings when I remember, and that I refer to plainly as blind contour drawings of the present moment.
Listen to the audio note if you wanna get weird with me for a sec while I attempt to describe a strange, mystical triangulation happening between paper, pen, spirit, texture, and the time-space continuum.
a little less in the head and a little more into sensation.
This weekend I’m in NYC with my beloved, which is a place I come to when I want to feel unmistakably plugged into the magic power grid running underneath reality. Big synchronicities abound. A little like sticking a finger in an electrical outlet for me, and an extraordinarily buzzy high I can sustain only because I don’t live here.
Yesterday I heard someone retell something Terrance McKenna said about taking a trip being a lot like tripping if you treat it as the threshold event that it is. If you treat it like the delightful threat to business as usual that it is. You get to come back different, rearranged. This is how I am proceeding.
